Chenal elementary school
The Gator Color Dash will bring our Chenal community together for an evening of movement and fun while serving as the Gator Group PTO's fall fundraiser. This event will be held at Chenal Elementary School.
What's a Color Dash?
It’s a non-competitive run/walk/dance held at Chenal Elementary School. Participants can wear white and get doused in vibrant color powder at the color stations located around the designated event track at the school. You can purchase a white event t-shirt or wear your own white shirt/gear.
What to Expect:
The event will have staggered starts in two waves: K-2nd and 3rd-5th. Families may choose which wave to participate in if they have students in both waves. Students may not participate without a parent/guardian present.
An event ticket provides a wrist band for each individual listed in the checkout process. A wrist band is required to participate in the Gator Color Dash.
Pets are not allowed at this event. Service animals are permitted per ADA law.

Will the powder stain?
The powder is temporary and will wash off - but bring a towel or change of clothes if you are concerned about transfer in your vehicle. We will also have instructions in your event packet setting the powder in your clothes if you would like to maintain the color.
Is the powder toxic?
No, the powder is not toxic. The ingredients are cornstarch and food grade color.
How does the family ticket work?
You can sign up your family (up to 5 members) for a set cost. You must register everyone at once (check out all of your family members in the same cart transaction) for this to work. You may come back and register more family members later, but you will be charged for an individual student.
Can students who are not longer at Chenal Elementary participate? What about family friends?
Yes, you can register other individuals with your family ticket. Everyone must be registered at once for this to work.
When will I get my event t-shirt (if purchased) and other Gator Color Dash materials?
Event packets will go home with your student (or oldest student, if applicable) on Wednesday, October 7. If your student is absent on Wednesday, you may pick up your event packet the night of the event at the check-in table.
How do I purchase an event ticket?
You may purchase event tickets HERE.
What if I want to come but I don't want to run?
The course is open for walking, running or dancing. If none of that sounds appealing, we have other opportunities to get involved. One way is to bring a lawn chair and cheer on participants along the course. Another way is to become an event volunteer. Please visit our volunteer page HERE.
What can we do while we're waiting for our wave, or after we've completed our wave?
We'll have other activities as well! Enjoy our photo booth, play fun games or purchase a snow cone from the food truck. Free snacks will be available as well.
What if it rains or storms?
We will plan to hold this event rain or shine unless there are severe weather warnings preventing us from safely holding the event outdoors. If the event must be rescheduled, we will make the official call by noon on the day of the event. The reschedule date will be Thursday, October 22.
Will we have access to the Chenal Elementary restrooms during the event?
Yes, you will have access to the restrooms during the event.
Where do I park?
The event track will utilize the Chenal Elementary parking lot and car and bus lanes, so parking will NOT be available at Chenal Elementary. Parking will be available across from Wildwood Park in the flat area that runs parallel to Denny Road. There will be two school bus shuttles running from the parking area to the school. Please note that due to PCSSD regulations, students will be shuttled on one bus, and parents on another. You will be reunited with your student at the dropoff location at the Gator Color Dash.
Two police officers will also be on site to manage the flow of traffic, provide safety measures for attendees who choose to walk, and escort the shuttles from the parking area to the school.
Will a nurse be on site?
Yes, we will have a registered nurse on site to handle any basic first aid needs.
The event route is approximately 1/3 of a mile around the school campus (see map below).
By participating in this event, you agree to our liability waiver. You can download the waiver to review here.
